Best Fit Movers is not a “moving” company. Best Fit Movers is an unprofessional organization that thrives off of creating chaos, and then charging you to fix the very chaos that they created.
Avoid Best Fit Movers at all costs.
This review describes the events that occurred on 5/30-5/31 2025, during a local Orange County move with Best Fit Movers.
As the customer, we have never physically worked so hard while actually paying a company to do the move.
You would think “manual labor” is part of the job for a moving company.
Instead we heard:
“oh, that’s too heavy”,
“Oh, I’m tired”
“you don’t really want that upstairs, do you?”
“we’re done, we don’t want to move that”
“it would be a shame if you had to throw that away unless you tip us”
“oops, looks like that was already broken”
Or simply breaking things and leaving it to be discovered later. But the crew of Best Fit Movers had no problem having a party when they turned their radio up so loud to a volume that is beyond embarrassing.
That’s on top of the very loud & inappropriate shouting in Spanish of cuss words or “goal!”, because after the very loud mariachi music, listening to a football match blasting out of a moving truck while they’re in someone else’s new neighborhood is par for the course for this band of hooligans.
Best Fit Movers is not a “moving” company. Best Fit Movers is an unprofessional organization that thrives off of creating chaos, and then charging you to fix the very chaos that they created.
Although we stated very clearly the move was for a 1200 square foot house, we were sent a small truck, so the move took TWO days, 2 different crews, approximately 20 hours, and a combined total of 6 men “working”.
And for the displeasure and hell of this experience, we were charged multiple thousands of dollars.
We moved into a 1400 square foot house and had to get rid of things because they could not do the job properly.
As a bonus, we will have to hire another moving company, a paint crew, a person to patch the dents in the walls, and a cleaning crew just to fix the mess that they created!
But this isn’t even the worst part about Best Fit Movers.
They literally dropped the refrigerator off the truck, destroyed art, damaged furniture, damaged the walls of both the old and the new place, literally just threw things around, and filled the garage with no concern for placement or walking room, making our new and clean house thoroughly dirty & damaged saying “you’ll just have to repaint and do some patch work on the walls, and hire a cleaning crew” – with zero shame or sense of responsibility – like they say this all the time, as if it were an acceptable business practice of Best Fit Movers.
Incredibly, this still isn’t even the worst part of Best Fit Movers.
The worst part is finding out that while I am making trips back and forth to fill our cars (yes, we had to use our cars to move our stuff too!) and am away, Salvador, the Best Fit Movers team leader bullies my wife who was forced to stay at the new place alone to manage things.
My wife was so upset that she just wanted them to finish and be gone. I thought she was tired from the week that we spent pre-packing everything to be ready for Best Fit Movers arrival, followed by this horrible experience with Best Fit Movers.
I had no clue that she was being bullied at that time that it was happening to her.
She was so shaken that she wouldn’t even come down for the final bill and checkout.
She only told me the full extent of what she was subjected to the morning after.
And let me be clear, my wife is not easily shaken. She completely felt unsafe, and disrespected.
The bullying started the moment they arrived at the new place and she was alone with them (reminder, I’m away packing our cars because we had to move things ourselves). She requested for the truck to be parked in an area that would not obstruct the neighbor’s garages, nor hinder our new neighbors in any way.
Salvador argued with her back and forth until he finally agreed to do what she, the customer, requested. Another crew member, George, tag-teamed on Salvador’s behalf to yell and disrespect her for daring to direct them where to park. This was just the beginning.
They also got mad at her for requesting the loud mariachi music to be turned down in an attempt to not disturb the new neighbors. This would have been a poor practice at any time, but it was 8pm at night.
We determined this parking spot was best from the day before (with the first Best Fit Movers crew) because it was right in front of our garage and front door, and didn’t impede traffic.
Salvador treated my wife like he owned the place, like a mob boss looking for angles to extort us, coupled with condescending remarks to her. The additional foul threats and cuss words in Spanish about my wife to the crew were heard by all the neighbors, one of which reported back to us the same night, others informed us the next day (additionally, my wife speaks Spanish, I do not).
There were many other things that were disturbing, but the bottom line is my wife was disrespected and felt completely unsafe; this is why she refused to even come downstairs to answer Salvador’s very loud question to the whole neighborhood of “who’s gonna sign for this?”, and “it’s better if you pay cash.” .
In the Marines, divide and conquer was a great battle strategy. I had no idea that this strategy was being deployed while I was repeatedly away loading and unloading our own cars. Speaking of the Marines, I am a disabled combat Veteran. My back and knees are so bad, that I should not have been lifting anything.
She was subjected to things like “oh, that’s going to be additional $150 EACH, unless you tip us well”, “we can’t move that 50 pound bookcase, but you can”, “that couch has got to go because we can’t move it”, and more.
She was beyond upset, and almost in tears. And again, my wife is not a delicate or easily shaken woman. In our over 15 years of marriage, and multiple moves, I have never seen her this disturbed.
None of this happened in front of me. What did happen in front of me was pretty standard shady behavior. What you might expect from unruly teenagers, but these Best Fit movers were well in their 30’s. What I witnessed just seemed very unprofessional and subpar work ethic.
Apparently this is standard practice for Best Fit Movers, just search the Better Business Bureau, which I failed to do given the hundreds of deceptively positive Google reviews.
Had I known about what she told me the next morning, and how Salvador and George talked to and treated my wife, we would’ve stopped everything immediately, directed them to take the remaining load to storage, and we will see you in court.
We found out later, that one neighbor wanted to call the police, but she didn’t want to embarrass us further.
Husband’s! Best Fit Movers cannot be trusted to treat your wife with respect and dignity if you are not there.
This is the worst moving experience in our lives. As a Marine Corps Veteran, we have moved a lot and we know how it should be when done properly.
But to bully someone’s wife while we are forced to leave her alone with a 3 man crew of thugs is completely UNACCEPTABLE.
This makes the extortion, taking advantage of us while vulnerable (since our stuff is on their truck), the lies and more, look like nothing.
We had many choices for moving companies; we planned this for over 2 months. As I write this, I can’t believe how they have so many positive Google reviews!
This experience, the pain in both of our bodies that we feel today (we worked for a week leading up to the move packing, and the moving that we were unexpectedly forced to do ourselves in our own cars for the 2 day nightmare) in addition to the complete disregard for decency by this company, is just completely wrong on so many levels.
Add the garbage and mess they left in front of both properties for us to clean up, and that completes the whole sordid picture of what to expect when hiring Best Fit Movers and ultimately extorted into paying thousands of dollars for unprofessional shoddy moving services.
This review will not be the end of my awareness campaign.
I am going to share this experience anywhere that will listen. I feel that it’s a public service announcement for others to beware!
The morning after, we apologized to the immediate neighbors. Best Fit Movers did not leave until 10pm. We didn’t finish the rest of the move in our cars until well after 2am. The neighbors understood, but what an embarrassing way to introduce ourselves to our new community.
